Lights! Camera! SDG Action!

Inspiring Youth SDG Action - One Episode At A Time!

Through our project, we aim to address the lack of SDG education and awareness among youth in Hong Kong through a docuseries. In the process, we want to incorporate the voices of different stakeholders, from local NGOs and experts to professors and existing student-led initiatives.

Fact.

With more than 1.8 billion young people around the world, youth make up the largest generation that this world has ever seen. It is impossible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 without the active participation of the largest generation of changemakers.

Fact.

The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Fact.

In a survey conducted in September 2018, the HK Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN HK) found that only one in seven youth respondents had heard about the SDGs.

Our Project

Lights! Camera! SDG Action is a documentary series promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to secondary students in Hong Kong. We aim to release 5-6 episodes lasting around 30-45 minutes each. Aside from providing a factual overview of the SDGs, our docuseries will reveal the stories of those involved in them — experts, beneficiaries, stakeholders, NGOs, activists, other students and more! From outreach and filming to editing and creating bilingual subtitles, the team at LCSDGA will be involved every step of the way to craft a compelling and meaningful narrative.
