Hong Kong's first inter-school magazine

We aim to provide a platform and network for student voice and engagement with social issues; the ISSIA magazine is a collaborative space that showcases student work (from articles, artwork and illustrations to photography), highlighting the multifaceted talents of young people. We also cultivate students' writing skills, global awareness, critical thinking skills through peer feedback via our guided editorial process. Beyond that, we develop the leaders of tomorrow. We provide leadership opportunities at every level, developing critical skills such as project management skills, communication skills, technical skills (e.g. video editing).

Our Project:

ISSIA prides itself on having an active community and network of passionate individuals, all working to shed light on pressing issues and providing an inclusive platform for social engagement and student voice; the notion of civil discourse has never been more important and is central to our driving ethos.

Our flagship project, the ISSIA Magazine, intends to serve as an inclusive collaborative space. We feature student work, ranging from illustrated articles and artwork submissions to photography.

Our magazine offers insights on topics such as social justice, mental health, culture, education and technology. We also feature more academic articles and interviews. You can find our online magazine site at issiahk.org

Get involved:

ISSIA is always looking to build our community as "the whole is more than the sum of its parts". We welcome students who are passionate about social issues!

We have a range of opportunities available: contributors are expected to write articles on "social issues" on a semi-regular basis. Designers work to create digital illustrations/graphics for articles, assist with layout/typesetting or work to create social media content. We also have opportunities available in events management (operations), research/advocacy and more!
